| Notes | When he joined Koch's lab, in this year, Behring was interested in iodoform, the main antiseptic dressing then used in the German army. Did it protect by neutralizing toxin or killing germs? Ptomaines produced by septic bacteria were partially neutralized. This preceded his antitoxin work. Included here as an example of antiseptic. |
