ReferenceIrgens
NotesIn this year leprosy, which had been a medical problem in Norway for centuries, reached a peak prevalence of 20 cases per 10,000 (2,858 cases). The Registry was not only important in the success of control measures (e.g., isolation) in Norway, but was a model for other disease registries there and elsewhere. See Irgens et al., Int. J. Epidemiol. 2:81-85,1973 (cited in unpublished essay by P. F. Mange). See 1847.
