Notes | At autopsy of a case of "Egyptian chlorosis," he found numerous hookworm (Ancylostoma duodenale) and noted the small hemorrhage around each. He postulated that sustained blood loss would account for the severe anemia typical of "chlorotic" patients. See 1852. |
