| Notes | Jaroslav Hlava. His publication, in Czech, gave rise to the spurious Doctor Uplavaci. In abstracting the report in German, a translator omitted the author's name. The Czech title words O Uplavaci, meaning On Dysentery, were widely cited in the literature as the author's name. The error was pointed out by Dobell in 1938; see Imperato, P.J., Bull. New York Acad. Med. 57: 175-187, 1981. |
